BP= the best price at the time of writing

1)(8) -05401 TESLIN Brian Ellison 3-9-04 Jean-Pierre Guillambert
Defeated Derby winner Authorized at Newbury last term but was subsequently outgunned in Group and Listed class before being sold out of Mark Johnston's yard in May. Bounced back to form on second start for new yard after being gelded when winning 10-furlong Beverley handicap and sixth and seventh have won since. Has gone up just 4lb for the victory. Decent chance. BP= 9/4

2)(3) 110230 EMERALD WILDERNESS 3-8-13 Ed Dunlop
Very consistent in handicaps. Met trouble in running when not beaten far at Goodwood last time. Should be in the mix but he is racing off his highest ever mark of 92 as he was at Goodwood. BP= 6/1

3)(1) 2-12 LANG SHINING - NON-RUNNER

4)(4) 100-61 NUR TAU Marcus Tregoning 3-8-07 Pat Dobbs
Has shown himself to be useful with two good handicap efforts this term. May have stolen the race when making all for victory over the distance at Sandown last time but cannot be dismissed despite 8lb rise in the weights. BP= 7/2

5)(5) 2-55-10 URBAN SPIRIT Barry Hills 3-8-07 Oscar Urbina
Defeated the decent Jack Junior to take a 10-furlong Newmarket maiden in July but subsequently disappointed on his handicap debut under a feather-weight in a 100,000 race at Goodwood on August 2. But on a line through Sugar Ray has the beating of Nur Tau at the weights. BP= 9/1

6)(6) 331020 NORTHERN JEM - NON-RUNNER

7)(7) (3)24021 WARM EMBRACE David Elsworth 3-8-04 Kevin May (7)
Justified favouritism to take a muddling extended 10-furlong contest at Warwick last time. Now 4lb higher and has four lengths to find with Teslin, although his rider's 7lb claim brings him right into contention and the colt has probably improved since. BP= 13/2

8)(2) 43161 VIVA LA FLAG John Dunlop 3-8-04t Nicky Mackay
Seems to relish quick underfoot conditions and did nothing wrong when winning over the distance at Newbury recently but that was a very slowly run affair and this is a much higher class. BP= 11/2

SUMMARY:
Now has an open look after the defection of the hot favourite but the value is with Urban Spirit who is worth a small punt to return to form.

GOOD LUCK
