GOING: GOOD TO SOFT

5pm £18,000 Carricks Darley Hay Architects Handicap 3yo+, 0-90 1m 5f 13yds

1. (3) 4664 Rehearsal 35 Len Lungo 5-9-13b1 Tom Eaves 99 BP= 16/1
He does not win very often - just two from 22 and nothing this year yet he is top-weight - worth opposing. He stays two miles but does not really have a trip. Best form on fast ground too.

2. (1) 4111 Alessano 22 Gary Moore 4-9-11b Ryan Moore 98 BP= 3/1
Has won his last three races - most recently over nearly a mile and seven furlongs at Newmarket on similar ground. He was a wide margin winner that day but none of the horses he had closest to him (the seconds and thirds) in those three races has won since. Worth opposing because of his price.

3. (6)7003 Crow Wood 38 (28J) John Quinn 7-9-09 Jimmy Quinn 97 BP= 12/1
Usually consistent sort whose best form has come on good or faster ground. Has not won on the Flat since June 2005 though he has been successful over hurdles twice.Another horse without a trip.

4. (7) 0385 Lets Roll 14 Chris Thornton 5-9-09 Saleem Golam(3) 102 BP= 2/1
He won this race easily last year and seems to run his best races at Ayr. Consistent sort who should run well.

5 (4) 1967 Doctor Scott 16 Mark Johnston 3-8-13 Royston Ffrench 98 BP= 16/1
Disappointing on his last two starts but fair form before that. He has shown his form on fast ground so this surface may be against him.

6. (5) 3323 Gee Dee Nen 23 Mark Tompkins 3-8-10 Neil Callan 99 BP= 9/2
Interesting runner who is very consistent and seems to act of softish going.

7. (2) 4433 Flying Clarets 28 Richard Fahey 3-8-05 Paul Hanagan 95 BP= 6/1
Another most consistent sort - this filly is the only one stepping up in trip but she stayed on in a good 12-furlong handicap at Ripon last month and should stay this extra furlong. Acts on soft ground and is the one to be on.

SUMMARY
The bottom two are favoured in this interesting handicap and FLYING CLARETS get s the nod because she is the bigger price.
