Variety Club representative Kay Hinton said: "It should be an amazing evening. We aim to raise as much money as possible for disabled and disadvantaged children in the area, and we have a superb raffle prize of a trip to Dubai on offer. Please come along and help us raise money for a worthy cause".

Following the racing, the entertainment continues for restaurant diners with superb live band Rang-a-Tang plus disco until midnight.

There is still availability for restaurant diners to enjoy this fun filled evening, and you may even recognise a few celebrities.

WALTER SWINBURN APPEAL RESULT

The Disciplinary Panel of the Jockey Club, on 15 September 2005, considered an appeal lodged by Walter Swinburn, the trainer of FAIRMILE, placed second in the Sodexho Prestige Handicap Stakes, against the decision of the Stewards at Sandown to find that the winner, SOUTH O'THE BORDER, ridden by Shane Kelly had not improved its placing as a result of accidental interference to FAIRMILE and therefore to leave the placings unaltered.

The Panel heard evidence from Swinburn, Adam Kirby, the rider of FAIRMILE and Kelly. It also viewed video recordings of the race.

The Panel found that SOUTH O'THE BORDER had accidentally interfered with FAIRMILE in that SOUTH O'THE BORDER ducked sharply left at about the one furlong marker, taking FAIRMILE off its intended racing line, and continued to drift further left carrying FAIRMILE with him.

The Panel noted that FAIRMILE was making up ground on SOUTH OF THE BORDER until its momentum was checked at the point of the interference.

The Panel therefore considered on the balance of probabilities, given that the winning distance was only a short head, that SOUTH O'THE BORDER had improved its placing in respect of FAIRMILE and therefore upheld the appeal and placed FAIRMILE first and SOUTH O'THE BORDER second.
