LARGEST EVER TATTERSALLS AUTUMN HORSES IN TRAINING CATALOGUE NOW ONLINE
French Champion Chaser KOTKIJET highest rated chaser ever to be sold in Europe.
The Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale (October 25th – 28th), numbering a record 1419 lots, can now be viewed online at www.tattersalls.com, with the catalogue due to be published on Friday 1st October.
Top 2004 performers from the Sale include the Group 1 winning trio METEOR STORM, RIGHT APPROACH, and TICKER TAPE as well as the Grade 1 Triumph Hurdle winner MADE IN JAPAN, and heading the ratings at this year's renewal is the French Champion Chaser KOTKIJET. The nine year old CADOUDAL gelding, a legend in his native France, has won 15 of his 22 starts, including two Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris, amassing more than 1,100,000 euros in the process and finishing out of the first three only once when falling.
While KOTKIJET looks set to attract enormous attention, the catalogue also features a massive number of established and emerging stars on the Flat, with more than 110 Group/Listed performers catalogued and more than 740 individual winners. One of the undoubted stars in the catalogue is the Marcus Tregoning trained ALKAADHEM, whose 2004 wins include the Group 3 Select Stakes at Goodwood as well as two further Listed contests, also at Goodwood. Also coming from Tregoning's Kingwood House Stables is the high class sprinter SO WILL I, winner of the Listed Carnarvon Stakes, as well as third in the Group 3 Greenham Stakes this year.
Prince Khaled Abdullah's Juddmonte Farms has its usual high class consignment, with the Group 3 winning sprinter POLAR WAY boasting the highest ‘Timeform' rating of the 65 entries. Currently rated 123, the POLAR FALCON gelding is a winner this year and has won six races to date including the Group 3 Boland Stakes at the Curragh, and was a neck second under top weight in the £150,000 Totesport International Stakes at Ascot in July.
Other Group and Listed winners amongst the three year olds and upwards include two regally bred sons of SADLER'S WELLS from Ballydoyle Stables, ACROPOLIS and MIKADO, PERSIAN MAJESTY, a Listed winner at Royal Ascot 2003 and third in the Group 2 Hardwicke Stakes at this year's Royal Meeting, two time Listed winner HAZYVIEW, who is also Group 2 placed, the hard as nails CHECKIT, a Group 2 winner and Group 1 placed, and Group 3 winner NAAHY, both from Mick Channon's West Ilsley Stables.
The ultra consistent and high class three year olds GATWICK, currently rated 117 by ‘Timeform' and FRANK SONATA (111) also look set to attract plenty of interest, as will the
Luca Cumani trained MEPHISTO, winner of this year's Ebor, and another to boast a ‘Timeform' rating of 111.
The younger generation is equally well represented, with the Group 3 Molecomb Stakes winner TOURNEDOS leading the way. Other Stakes winning two year olds catalogued include the high class Irish trained CELTIC SWING filly SLIP DANCE, whose two wins have amassed more than £100,000 in prize money, Brian McMahon's York Listed winner DANCE NIGHT, and the Nick Littmoden trained National Stakes winner POLLY PERKINS. Also coming from Brian McMahon's stable is the multiple Group 3 and Listed placed filly CASTELLETTO, while the Group 2 placed SILVER WRAITH from Neville Callaghan's yard and the Group and Listed performers EMBOSSED and GRAND MARQUE from Richard Hannon's team are other eyecatchers.
Commenting on the Sale, Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony said; "The Autumn Horses in Training Sale continues to go from strength to strength, and with 2004 Group winners throughout the world as well as hurdlers of the quality of MADE IN JAPAN and INGLIS DREVER, it is little wonder that the Sale consistently attracts such a cosmopolitan cast of buyers. This year's catalogue is not only the largest ever, but also looks to have enormous strength in depth for both Flat and National Hunt purchasers."
