BP= the best price at the time of writing

1) 15-151 CESARE James Fanshawe 6-9-04 Jamie Spencer
Has improved again this year. He was a facile victor of a mile Listed event at Ascot in May, and followed that with a fine fifth in Group One Queen Anne Stakes and a ready success in Group Two Summer Mile at Ascot on July 14, settling matters with a sublime turn of foot. The class act and must have outstanding claims but he had has had trouble in running before and at this course. Worth opposing as he is no value. BP= 11/8

2) 11-121 BLUE KSAR Saeed Bin Suroor 4-9-01t Frankie Dettori
Very consistent at a lower level, winning second Listed race over this trip in clear-cut style at Pontefract last month. Beaten by Blythe Knight in Diomed Stakes in June but could turn the tables having looked unsuited by Epsom and being hampered leaving the stalls. Equally effective at 10 furlongs but shows plenty of pace and deserves his shot at this prize, although would not want the ground too fast. BP= 13/2

3) -29311 BLYTHE KNIGHT John Quinn 7-9-01 Graham Gibbons
Fantastic sort for connections who is at home on the Flat or over hurdles. Landed 2006 Lincoln Handicap and topped that with first Pattern success in Group Three Diomed Stakes at Epsom on June 2, out-pointing Blue Ksar. Had a nice break since and always gives his best but this demands another step forward and he wouldnít want the ground to dry out much more. BP= 12/1

4) 304138 CHARLIE COOL William Haggas 4-9-01v Darryll Holland
Useful handicapper who came good at Nottingham over a mile in June having been campaigned in Dubai earlier this year. Fine third in Listed Wolferton Handicap at Royal Ascot but well beaten by Cesare in Summer Mile last time and looks up against it here. BP= 33/1

5) -83153 DUNELIGHT Clive Cox 4-9-01v Dane OžNeill
Loves this course, having run three cracking races here in as many visits, most recently when finishing third to Tariq in Group Two Betfair Cup over a furlong shorter on July 31, only headed well inside final furlong. The return to a mile is no problem, having scored easily over course and distance in June, and another big run is on the cards. Front-runner. BP= 5/1

6) 5-1156 ECHELON Sir Michael Stoute 5-8-12 Ryan Moore
Excellent start to the campaign with brace of Group Three wins at Newmarket and Epsom over slightly further but was disappointing last time out , coming home behind exceptional Peeping Fawn in 10-furlong Group One Pretty Polly Stakes on soft at the Curragh at the end of June. Had a break since then and runs best when fresh. Likes downhill tracks such as Goodwood and could surprise. BP= 6/1

7) 15-56 FINICIUS Eoin Griffin IRE 3-8-09 Richard Hughes
Lightly-raced Irish challenger who ran well despite inexperience when sixth in Group Two Betfair Cup latest start, under two lengths behind Dunelight, over a furlong less Highly regarded by trainer. The decent ground and mile trip look perfect; could surprise. BP= 16/1

8) 1-0214 SELINKA Richard Hannon 3-8-06 Eddie Ahern
Talented filly who followed decisive Listed success at Sandown over a mile with close fourth here in Group Three Oak Tree Stakes over seven furlongs, running on well close home. Return to this trip in her favour and ground no problem but will need to have improved in the interim to carry this off. BP= 18/1

SUMMARY

Echelon looks the value each-way in a fascinating race.

GOOD LUCK
