INTERCASINO.COM TO BACK CHAMPAGNE STAKES

Doncaster Racecourse is delighted to announce that intercasino.com - the world's oldest online casino - is to sponsor the Group 2 intercasino.com Champagne Stakes, run on Friday, September 9.

The seven-furlong intercasino.com Champagne Stakes, this year worth £100,000, is invariably contested by outstanding two-year-olds who go on to great things in the future. Wilko, who finished fourth to Etlaala in last year's race, went on to win the following month's Breeders' Cup Juvenile while the 2004 2,000 Guineas and Champion Stakes hero Haafhd finished third to Lucky Story (jointly top-rated British-trained two-year-old colt in the International Classifications) in the 2003 Champagne Stakes. There are 49 leading juveniles going forward for this year's race.

Other outstanding names on the modern-day roll of honour include Ribofilio (1968), Grundy (1974), Wollow (1975), Gorytus (1982), Lear Fan (1983), Sure Blade (1985), Don't Forget Me (1986), Warning (1987), Rodrigo De Triano (1991), Sri Pekan (1994), Alhaarth (1995) and Noverre (2000) while in 2001 Dubai Destination memorably defeated Rock Of Gibraltar.

intercasino.com is the world's first and oldest online casino and has been voted Top Online Casino by readers of Gambling Online Magazine for the past four consecutive years. It was established in 1996 and the first real money bet was placed in November of that year. The UK site was launched in June, 2004. Since 1996, intercasino has hosted more than 300 million games and has paid out over $3 billion! intercasino's players have taken home jackpots ranging from $1,000 to $300,000 in a single game and the combined payouts to clients is over 97.5% (exceeding land-based casino payouts).

Peter Marcus, spokesman for intercasino.com, said today: "We are delighted to be associated with this prestigious race meeting and we hope that this famous race throws up yet another high class two-year-old. intercasino are relative newcomers to the sport of horse racing but we recently sponsored an entire Saturday card at Windsor and are hoping to sponsor plenty more race meetings in the next 12 months. We know that our customers enjoy racing and it offers us fantastic marketing and hospitality opportunities."

Steven Clarke, General Manager at Doncaster Racecourse, added: "We are excited to add intercasino.com to the list of sponsors at next week's St Leger Festival. The intercasino.com Champagne Stakes has a record that compares favourably with any other two-year-old race and we look forward to seeing more stars of the future in the 2005 contest."
