Schooling Hurdles To Be Used At Cheltenham Breeze Up

Potential purchasers will have the opportunity to see horses schooled over hurdles at Brightwells’ Premier Breeze Up Sale, staged at Cheltenham racecourse on Friday, December 12.

The innovative schooling hurdle section of the Breeze Up will be optional and entries will jump over the new EasyFix hurdles, which have been introduced at a number of racecourses in Ireland for the 2008 season and are also used by many trainers for schooling.

Matt Mitchell, Head of Brightwells Bloodstock, said: “The desire of purchasers to see jumping prospects both breeze and jump has made the decision to introduce the facility at the Cheltenham Breeze Up Sale a logical move.

“The development of the National Hunt Breeze Up sector will continue to grow subject to purchasers having quality jump prospects to choose from, which we believe the Breeze Up at Cheltenham will provide.”

The Cheltenham Breeze Up is the only sale of its kind staged alongside a race meeting, something that has been fundamental in its success. This year’s sale will be held on Friday, December 12, in the Centaur building at Cheltenham during the two-day Boylesports International meeting (Friday, December 12, and Saturday, December 13).
