ASCOT RACECOURSE AND ABU DHABI TOURISM AUTHORITY IN NEW PARTNERSHIP DEAL

Ascot Racecourse today announces a significant corporate partnership deal with the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA). The deal includes the sponsorship and naming rights for the £150,000 Abu Dhabi International Handicap on King George Day.

ADTA now becomes Ascot’s fifth annual corporate partner, along with Allied Irish Bank (GB), Cisco, Sony and Betfair.

Charles Barnett, Chief Executive of Ascot Racecourse, said: “We are delighted to be able to announce this new partnership with ADTA and to bring the number of annual corporate partners at Ascot to five.

“We look forward to working with ADTA to promote tourism in Abu Dhabi to our audience. King George Day, the centrepiece of The Betfair Weekend at Ascot, will now host a number of sponsorships from the UAE – including the Abu Dhabi International Handicap and the new £50,000 Emirates Equestrian Federation race for Arabian-breds.”

ADTA’s sponsorship deal also comprises annual site branding rights, as well as stalls and stalls staff branding in the official Royal Ascot colours (black and cream) on one day of the Royal Meeting (Wednesday 17th June this year). A composite logo will be used in racecards and on BBC Television on that day.

Ahmed Hussein, Deputy Director General, Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, said: “The synergy between the Arab love of purebred horsemanship and arguably the world’s most famous racecourse is unparalleled.

“As part of ADTA’s ongoing strategy to raise the profile of the emirate on a global stage, we have identified this opportunity with Ascot Racecourse as a singular platform to maximise destination awareness with one of our key tourism markets.”
