SINGAPORE TURF CLUB TO CARRY ITS FIRST EVER ROYAL ASCOT RACE
£375,000 PRINCE OF WALES’S STAKES TO BE BROADCAST LIVE IN SINGAPORE
At The Races, the UK and Ireland's most watched dedicated horseracing channel and recent winner of the Broadcast Best Sports Service award, today announced an agreement with the Singapore Turf Club that will see the Prince of Wales’s Stakes become the first ever Royal Ascot race broadcast live in Singapore.
The Singapore Turf Club will operate its Totalisator betting service on the race with customers able to place bets at the Singapore Racecourse, at all off-course betting centres, at Singapore Pools’ branches and through its Telebet services.
At The Races now has arrangements that will take the showpiece of British Flat racing to at least 22 different countries worldwide including established betting markets such as Italy, South Africa, France and Australia. The New Zealand Racing Board will also take the entire Royal Ascot Meeting live for the first time.
Matthew Imi, Chief Executive, At The Races said:
"This is a small but significant step forward for Ascot and for British horseracing in the Asian simulcast market.
“The Singapore Turf Club is one of the most respected and influential racing authorities in the world and having now developed a good working relationship with our colleagues at the STC we are very encouraged by the Club’s increasing desire to harness the appeal of UK and Irish racing in its domestic market.”
