CECIL WINS CROSSED APPEAL
Henry Cecil has successfully appealed against the decision of the Lingfield stewards to demote his Double Crossed to second place in the Arena Racing Oaks Trial on May 12.
The Disciplinary Committee of the Jockey Club held that the interference was accidental.
Therefore, Double Cross was promoted to first and Silver Grey Lady placed second.

NEW FEE ANNOUNCED FOR CHAMPION FIRST-SEASON SIRE
Windsor Park Stud has announced a fee increase for New Zealand's champion first-season sire Woodborough.
The son of Woodman will stand at a fee of $6000 in New Zealand this spring, up from $4000 last year.
"Given the exciting results which Woodborough has achieved in both hemispheres this year it is not too surprising that there is already strong demand for his services in New Zealand next spring," Windsor Park Stud owner Nelson Schick said.
Woodborough has not only clearly established himself as the leading freshman sire in New Zealand in the 2000-2001 season but has had a flying start with his earliest two-year-old runners in Europe.
His earliest European two-year-old runners wasted little time in getting among the winners' circle.
On May 1 the Woodborough filly, Dorliska, won a juvenile race at Siracusa in Italy.
The second winner came when his son, Woodsmoke, won the EBF Maiden at Brighton and in the same race another of his progeny, Little Woodstock finished third.
It followed on from a placing at Newmarket in England by his first progeny to make it to the races, To The Woods. In New Zealand his major earners this season have been Wellesley Stakes winner and Mercedes Classique runner-up Shinnecock and other winners have included Syncamore and Woodsman.
Woodborough was bred and raced by Robert Sangster and was purchased by Windsor Park Stud for his stud career.
Windsor Park in turn on-sold a 50 per cent interest in Woodborough to Ballyhane Stud in Ireland which stands him during the northern hemisphere season.
This has meant that unlike most shuttle stallions Woodborough's oldest progeny are his first New Zealand crop.
The European Gr II winning horse was extremely popular with breeders last spring in New Zealand with his book being full and closed off by September.
Fees announced for other stallions at Windsor Park this year are Montjeu $40,000, Volksraad $30,000, Kaapstad $20,000, Star Way $10,000, Casual Lies $7000 and Danske $7500.
MERRY-GO-ROUND RIDE IN SIRES PREMIERSHIP CONTINUES
The merry-go-round ride of the New Zealand sires' premiership has taken another turn with Volksraad back in the driving seat after the weekend's racing.
Latest figures released by New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing show that Volksraad's progeny have earned total prize-money this season of $738,862.
That places Volksraad just $41 ahead of his closest rival, Zabeel, whose current prize-money total is $738,821.
This turnaround comes after Zabeel had held the lead by $208 going into last Thursday's race-meeting at Otaki.
Current standings:
Volksraad $738,862
Zabeel $738,821
Kaapstad $683,497
Victory Dance $639,650
Desert Sun $630,992
WINDSOR PARK DOMINANT IN NZ GROUP ONE RACES
Windsor Park Stud-owned sires and broodmares were represented by the winners of almost 30 per cent of New Zealand's Group One races this season.
With the country's 21 Group One races having been completed this season the results show that six of these were won by either horses bred by the stud, or by the stud's resident sires or their dam sires. That represents an impressive 28. per cent!
One of the stud's most notable achievements this season was breeding Wellington Cup winner Smiling Like, who is now retired to stud and is in foal to Cape Cross.
Smiling Like also won the New Zealand Cup at Riccarton last November as well as the Trentham Stakes in January.
Smiling Like (ex Eustaci) is a daughter of the stud's resident sire, Star Way.
Another Group One winner for Star Way during the season was the high-class three-year-old filly Elevenses who won the New Zealand One Thousand Guineas at Riccarton. She also won the Group Two Grosvenor Championship Stakes at Ellerslie.
Windsor Park Stud also bred Otaki Auto Auctions Weight-For-Age winner Star Satire who also claimed a second placing in the Group One Bayer Classic.
Star Satire is a daughter of another Windsor Park-based sire Volksraad who has been one of the leading overall sires in New Zealand this season.
Volksraad was denied another Group One success when Vinaka was relegated from first to second in the Manawatu Sires' Produce Stakes at Awapuni.
The third Windsor Park based sire to be represented by a Group One winner this season was Kaapstad who in fact had a dual success through his daughter, Tall Poppy, who has also now been retired to stud by her owners, Fairdale Stud, and is in foal to Volksraad.
Tall Poppy's Group One successes came in the Thorndon Mile at Trentham and Lion Red Stakes at Ellerslie.
Kaapstad is also the dam sire of the Ford Ellerslie Sires' Produce Stakes winner Kapiston (Lake Coniston-Kapetoile by Kaapstad) and of Star Satire.
The only other sire to be represented by a dual Gr I winner in New Zealand this season was Faltaat - the sire of Two Thousand Guineas-Bayer Classic winner Tit For Taat.
