NOTTINGHAM OFF
Nottingham’s televised meeting today has been called off because conditions are not safe.
After a 7am inspection, clerk of the course Charlie Moore said: "We have abandoned. There was no rain overnight but the drying process which was going so well yesterday has not finished well enough to say the track will be safe for racing in six and a half hours' time.
Three races on today's Flat card were due to be shown on Channel 4.
Moore said: "The groundstaff are gutted, the chairman of the stewards panel is gutted and so am I, not to mention the people in the office. We have had 66mm of rain since Monday morning and compared with the situation 48 hours ago the track is brilliant, and 97.5% of it is raceable. But you can't race with the patchy ground we have got."

TP= Tote prices
going - soft, heavy in places
1) (4) 120-5 Arkadian Hero Luca Cumani 6-9-00 Jamie Spencer
Smart miler at best. Has been campaigned abroad since September last year. Most recent run in Dubai when fifth to Jim And Tonic. Yet to prove himself on this sort of ground. TP=9/2
2) (5) 0314- Medicean Sir Michael Stoute 4-9-00 Kieren Fallon
Stable in good form so this improving miler must be given every chance. Fear is that he may need this run on the soft ground. TP=3/1
3) (3) 1121- Observatory John Gosden 4-9-00 NON-RUNNER
Misses the race because of the ground.
4) (1) 9-402 Sugarfoot Nigel Tinkler 7-9-00 John Reid
Has plenty to do in this company even though he was second last time out. TP=8/1
5) (8) 5-821 Swallow Flight Geoff Wragg 5-9-00 Frankie Dettori
Useful and consistent sort but this is the toughest assignment yet and he is a very short price. TP=15/8
6) (2) 71-57 Umistim Richard Hannon 4-9-00 Dane O'Neill
Likes soft ground but has yet to hit form this season. TP=10/1
7) (6) 83-01 Warningford James Fanshawe 7-9-00 Pat Eddery
Came good in a lesser race last time and has yet to win over a mile. TP=8/1
8) (7) 3121- Danceabout Geoff Wragg 4-8-11 Johnny Murtagh
Improving filly who could spring a surprise. She is the clear value of the race and has been working nicely at home. Trainer in good form. TP=9/1
