BP= the best price at the time of writing

1. (5) 42610/3- Shabernak (IRE) 8-9-09 Michael Bell Jamie Spencer
Has not run for a year and this is the first time on an all-weather surface. Decent performer at his best but he is not getting any younger. BP= 6/1

2. (3) 400810- Odiham 6-9-08 v Hughie Morrison Steve Drowne
Winner over course and distance in a Listed race in November. Racing off the same mark but is abit of an in and out performer. BP= 4/1

3. (2) 143434- King's Head (IRE) 4-9-02 Gary Moore George Baker
Ran second on hurdles debut last month. Has not tried this trip previously on the Flat where he ran consistently. BP= 8/1

4. (6) 7/11250- Galient (IRE) 210 4-9-01 Michael Jarvis Neil Callan
Lightly raced sort who won twice over 12 furlongs last year and was then second in the Queen’s Vase over this trip at Royal Ascot before losing way. Could be well treated on his all-weather debut but he is no value. BP= 11/8

5. (4) 422328- Helvetio 183 5-8-07 Micky Hammond Joe Fanning
Ex-French performer who stays. Third on hurdle debut last month, first run in England. Only won once. BP= 25/1

6. (1) 29311-1 Salute (IRE) 28 8-8-04 Pat Murphy Robert Havlin
Seeking a four-timer on the Polytrack surface after two wins at Wolverhampton and one here over this distance. He is doing well and the handicapper could have erred on the side of leniency in putting the horse up only 4lb for his latest triumph. Definitely the value in this race. BP= 9/2

Summary
Fascinating handicap where Salute is the clear value.
