3.55pm SANDOWN - Saturday, April 29, 2006 - betfred.com Mile (Group 2) 1m14y for the best odds go to www.BritOdds.com BP= the best price at the time of writing GOING: GOOD TO FIRM, FIRM IN PLACES 1) (8) 3313 Azarole Stan Moore 5-9-00 John Egan Useful in his own right as when winning valuable handicap at Nad Al Sheba on penultimate start. Has generally struggled on previous attempts in Group company and looks up against it again. BP= 12/1 2) (6) 05-6 Babodana Mark Tompkins 6-9-00 Darryll Holland Winless since the 2004 but ran a decent race under a big weight in this year's renewal of that race. Needs softer ground to be seen at his best. BP= 10/1 3) (7) -783 Democratic Deficit Jim Bolger 4-9-00t Kevin Manning Won the Craven a Newmarket last year and has been consistent enough since. Will like the ground and is in with a chance. BP= 5/1 4) (5) 16-4 Kings Point Richard Fahey 5-9-00p Richard Hughes Goes on the ground and would have a chance on his best form, although was fairly well beaten on his seasonal debut. BP= 14/1 5) (3) 210- Momtic William Jarvis 5-9-00 Alan Munro Developed into very useful handicapper last year. Disappointed on final start in the Cambridgeshire and others appeal more. BP= 8/1 6) (4) 310- Rob Roy Sir Michael Stoute 4-9-00 Michael Kinane Began last year as a 2,000 Guineas contender but disappointed in that race. Won decent Group Three contest on penultimate start of 2005 before disappointing in the Champion Stakes. Open to more improvement but there is better value in the race.. BP= 7/4 7) (1) 0-11 Something Terry Mills 4-9-00 Ian Mongan Won both starts on the all-weather this year but well beaten in Pattern company last season and needs to improve again. BP= 13/2 8) (2) /21- Take A Bow Patrick Chamings 5-9-00 Jimmy Quinn Looked to be a progressive of sort two seasons ago and showed good form again in 2006, when restricted to two outings. Could be an interesting horses this season, but probably best watched on his seasonal debut. BP= 12/1 SUMMARY Far from the greatest renewal of this Group Two contest, in which DEMOCRATIC DEFICIT offers the best value. For old articles (from 1st March 2000) go to the Newslink Archive |
