ANOTHER WINNER FOR THE VALUE BETTING COLUMN YESTERDAY MONTOSARI WINS AT 100/30 SEE BELOW FOR YESTERDAY’S COPY THE VALUE BETTING COLUMN EVERY SATURDAY
LINGFIELD, SATURDAY, APRIL 1, 2006 4.40pm, Play Baccarat At intercasino.co.uk Handicap, 2m for the best odds go to www.BritOdds.com BP= the best price at the time of writing GOING: STANDARD 1) (4) 7451 Monte Cristo Lavinia Taylor 8-9-09v Neil Chalmers (3) Better known as a fair handicap chaser/hurdler but has decent all-weather form of late, with three wins since November. Has a chance despite having gone up 3lb. BP= 4/1 2) (2) 4-24 Montosari Philip Mitchell 7-9-03 George Baker Has won over the course and distance. He is 4lb better off with Monte Cristo for a near three-length beating last time out when there was not a lot of pace. BP=9/2 3) (8) -192 Taxman Clive Brittain 4-9-00p Ryan Moore Won on seasonal debut over 12 furlongs before down the field over this course and distance behind Monte Cristo next time (endured a very rough passage and was eased when beaten). Showed a return to form again last time over 12 furlongs but is so far unproven over this distance on the all-weather. Worth opposing at this price. BP= 9/4 4) (5) 957- Mac Han Eamon Tyrrell IRE 7-8-11 Michael Hussey Not seen out since pulling up over hurdles in late December and well beaten on only previous try on the all-weather, though that was on the Fibresand at Southwell. Best Flat form at lesser distances. Trained in Ireland. BP= 16/1 5) (1) 5331 Lady Pilot Dr Jeremy Naylor 4-8-11v Adam Kirby (3) Stays very well and won last time at Wolverhampton over 17 furlongs Has a talented claimer aboard and should be thereabouts but srictly on his third behind Monte Cristo here the time before is held by the winner. BP= 6/1 6) (6) 6-02 Jamaar Chris Kellett 4-8-10 Micky Fenton Yet to win in six starts, although almost caused a 50/1 upset last time out, at Wolverhampton a month and a half ago but was probably flattered by that performance as he dictated the pace. Probably needs to improve to figure here. BP= 10/1 7) (3) 98-0 Jubilee Dream Laura Mongan 4-8-9b1 Jean-Piere Guillambert Another maiden, who has mixed hurdling and the all-weather, swith the latter performances being over 10 furlongs. Little to recommend on all known evidence over this trip yet. BP= 20/1 8) (7) 038- Arch Folly Jonny Portman 4-8-04 Paul Hanagan Winless in 10 starts to date but showed a race was clearly within his grasp last season when third in a Goodwood turf handicap at this trip. Main concern is that he has not run since October but trainer is in fair form. BP= 10/1 SUMMARY An interesting little race, with the top three likely to dominate and a wild card in Arch Folly. MONTOSARI is great each-way value and must have a fine chance of winning if there is a bit of pace early on. For old articles (from 1st March 2000) go to the Newslink Archive |
