IT WON'T BE AN ORDINARY NIGHT AT NEWMARKET



Newmarket Racecourses today announced the fifth act to be confirmed for the 2007 Newmarket Nights with Q103 line-up.

The Ordinary Boys will be performing at the July Course on Friday 10th August.


The Ordinary Boys are an English indie rock band, influenced by mod revival, Brit Pop music, bands like The Specials and The Smiths and singer/songwriter Morrissey, (their name actually comes from a Morrissey song.)

The foursome made up of Preston (vocals, guitar), William J. Brown (guitar, vocals), Charles Stanley (drums), and James Gregory (bass) formed the Ordinary Boys in Worthing, England, near Brighton, in spring 2002.


Managing Director of Newmarket Racecourses, Lisa Hancock said: "We are delighted to announce the Ordinary Boys as the fifth act in the 2007 line up. The Ordinary Boys represent a different type of music previously unseen at Newmarket Nights and I am sure our audience will welcome them on to the stage."

Notable songs include "Boys will be Boys", "Nine2Five", and "I Luv You". Their latest single "Lonely at the Top" marks a change of sound, with a more pop feel to it, featuring synthesisers and samples. The band have a very strong and loyal fan base nicknamed "The Ordinary Army

Tickets for The Ordinary Boys are priced at:
Premier Enclosure - £25
Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure - £16
Garden Enclosure - £11

There are a limited number of child admissions priced at £5 each. Once the limited child admissions have been sold, children will be charged at the full adult rate.

Other acts for confirmed for Newmarket Nights 2007

Australian rock band INXS will be performing on Friday 22nd June, the first of seven Newmarket Nights at the newly redeveloped July Course.

Jools Holland and His Rhythm and Blues Orchestra will be back for their 11th year running on Friday 3rd August.


Scottish foursome, Wet Wet Wet will close the Newmarket Nights for 2007 as they are set to perform on Friday 17th August.

Madness are set to debut at the July Course on Friday 20th July.
