1.40pm UK TIME, Nad Al Sheba, Dubai, Saturday, March 27, 2004

US$1,000,000 Godolphin Mile (Group Two), sponsored by Jebel Ali International Hotels, One mile (1,600 Metres) dirt

1) 21-11 Cherry Pickings (USA) (Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed al Maktoum) Mazin Al Kurdi (UAE) 7-9-00 (TT) Ted Durcan (7)
Has been winning handicaps before progressing to win a Listed race over course and distance last time out. May have been flattered as he is seven.
BP= 11/2 Coral Eurobet

2) 1015 Conflict (FR) (Sheikh Marwan Al Maktoum) Mazin Al Kurdi (UAE) 8-9-00 (V TT) Brett Doyle (2)
Useful sort in Dubai but has to make up nearly eight lengths on Cherry Pickings compared to when fifth to that horse two outings ago. Has since won again, taking a Listed race.

BP= 20/1 totesport

3) 15-16 D'Anjou (GB) (Barouche Stud) John Oxx (Ireland) 7-9-00 Michael Kinane (9)
Switches to dirt for the first time and has it to do.

BP= 16/1 Bet365 & William Hill

4) 10-12 During (USA) (James McIngvale) Bob Baffert (USA) 4-9-00 (V TT) Jerry Bailey (1)
Consistent Grade Two winner in America who will go off favourite but does not represent any value.

BP= 9/4 William Hill

5) 153-6 Estimraar (USA) (Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Maktoum) Mazin Al Kurdi (UAE) 7-9-00 (V TT) Gary Hind (5)
Ran OK on his only start of the year and should improve for that run but is really only a Group Three horse when you need to be nearly a Group One performer to win this.

BP= 20/1 Blue Square, Ladbrokes & totesport

6) 12-70 Excessivepleasure (USA) (Ty Leatherman) Doug O'Neill (USA) 4-9-00 (B TT) Jon Court (3)
American raider who has not sparkled in two recent runs but had fair form previously.

BP= 14/1 Coral Eurobet

7) 1005- Firebreak (GB) (Godolphin) Saeed bin Suroor (UAE) 5-9-00 (TT) Lanfranco Dettori (8)
Won this race last year but lacks a recent outing and needs to make all. The other Godolphin contender Inamorato is much better value.

BP= 7/2 Ladbrokes

8) 143-2 Inamorato (USA) (Godolphin) Saeed bin Suroor (UAE) 4-9-00 (V TT) Kerrin McEvoy (6)
Ran well enough on his seasonal debut when second to Dubai World Cup contender Victory Moon over a furlong longer. He will be suited by this shorter trip and can do well. Was beaten a length by During in the States last year but is back on home stronger and is a stronger sort.

BP= 8/1 Coral Eurobet and totesport

9)1232 Tropical Star (IRE) (Sheikh Mohammed bin Maktoum Al Maktoum) Ali Rashid Al Raihe (UAE) 4-9-00 (V TT) Richard Mullen (4)
Second to Cherry Picking last time and third to Victory Moon the time before so he looks held.

BP= 16/1 Coral Eurobet

SUMMARY
The clear value is with Inamorato - a first ride for Kerrin McEvoy since he was appointed second jockey to Godolphin. Back him each way.
