2,50pm £20,000 Lloyds TSB Scotland Scottish Racing Handicap Chase 3m 1f

1) F413-70 Another Rum (IRE) Ian Duncan 8-11-12 Alan Ross
First run over fences this season. Trained in Northern Ireland and has performed OK in two hurdle events. Won the four-mile National Hunt Chase at the Cheltenham Festival last year and was third in the Scottish National. Likely to go for the Grand National whose weights are announced on Monday. Very useful sort who is likely to need further. BP= 10/1

2) 8UP22-P Royal Emperor (IRE) Sue Smith 10-11-11 Dominic Elsworth
Has struggled to find his form in the last couple of seasons but must perform better than his last run.Coming down the ratings but needs to do so. BP= 11/1

3) 981-P9F The Bajan Bandit (IRE) Len Lungo 11-11-10 Tony Dobbin
In and out performer but six of his 12 wins have come at this course. Better known over hurdles but cannot be dismissed in this race - however there are uncertainties. BP= 6/1

4) 21-3154 Leading Man (IRE) Ferdy Murphy 6-11-07 T J Dreaper (5)
Soft ground loving novice who has been found wanting in higher grade races on his last two starts. BP= 10/1

5) 20-P2F7 Strong Resolve (IRE) Lucinda Russell 10-11-05 P Buchanan (3)
Has not had much luck this season but this is a drop in class after finishing seventh in the Coral Welsh National last time out. Trainer has yet to hit top form. BP= 9/1

6) 34113/4 Big-And-Bold (IRE) Nicky Richards 10-10-09 Russ Garritty
Off the course for four years before his fourth over two and a half miles at Newcastle so difficult to sum up - has yet to prove he stays three miles plus. But his trainer thinks a lot of him and the yard is in cracking form. Must have a good chance. BP= 5/1

7) 21F51-3 Rosie Redman (IRE) Jimmy Turner 9-10-05 Graham Lee
Very useful mare who seems on the upgrade. Promising reappearance at Kelso in December and has the beating of Strong Resolve on past form. Stays well and likes soft ground. BP=5/1

8) 850P-6P Hussard Collonges (FR) Peter Beaumont 11-10-05 Tom Siddall
Has not shown proper form for three years and lightly raced. Probably needed last run and is dropping down the handicap. BP= 33/1

9) 24-32P1 Interdit (FR) Mrs B K Thomson 10-10-04 K Renwick
Most consistent performer who loves kelso, winning there last time out, but has also scored twice at Ayr. Up 5lb in the ratings for latest win but is not out of it. BP= 9/1

10) 11/412 King Barry (FR) Pauline Robson 7-10-01 Richard McGrath
Difficult to weigh up. Started out in a maiden chase, then won a novice over two miles at Catterick and was a neck second here in a handicap over two and half miles. Went up 5lb for that. Previously won two point-to-points. BP= 5/1

SUMMARY

Fascinating race with an open look. Rosie Redman has all the right ingredients - she stays well and has the right jockey - good value each-way.
