Ladbrokes expect industry to be taken for half a million by Rhinestone Cowboy but want him to win!

Rhinestone Cowboy, after only four races over hurdles, is sitting pretty at the top of the Smurfit Champion Hurdle market at 5/2 with Ladbrokes.

Ladbrokes has bet as follows over the course of this season:

17th November 2002 16/1 following a cool ride by JP Magnier in Cheltenham bumper

19th November 10/1 following a facile win in hurdle debut at Newbury

26th January 2003 8/1 as strong money comes in

1st February 6/1 following another confident win in Grade 2 Novice Hurdle at Wetherby

15th February 3/1 joint favourite with Intersky Falcon following Kingwell win

15th February 5/2 clear favourite as punters cannot take the 3/1 fast enough.

Balthazar Fabricius of Ladbrokes commented, "The industry will feel it should the Cowboy be first home shortly after 3:15pm on 11th March but as a firm this would be a fantastic result for us. We have followed this horse very closely from his debut hurdle win at Newbury and have always endeavoured to keep it on our side."
