John Dunlop OBE – Honorary Member
John Dunlop, 70, is a legend amongst racehorse trainers, with well over 3,000 winners to his name in a career stretching back to 1966. A host of great horses have passed through his hands at Castle Stables in Arundel, including 74 Group 1 winners and the winners of 10 British Classics and six Irish Classics. He was Champion trainer in 1995 and his sons Ed and Harry are both now successful trainers in their own right.

In addition to training horses of the calibre of Shirley Heights, Habibti and Salsabil, John has committed a huge amount of his time and energy to racing charities. He is a Trustee of Racing Welfare, The Moorcroft Racing Welfare Centre and of the British Racing School. John’s Stable open days have raised over £240,000 for local charities including Moorcroft over the years.

Nigel Churton MBE – Ordinary Member
Nigel Churton, 60, is Chairman of the Chester Racecourse Company, which also owns Bangor on Dee. He has a horse in training with Tim Vaughan and has point to pointers with Clive Mulhall and had horses with James Bethell. Nigel is Vice Chairman of Control Risks Group Limited, one of the world’s largest security and risk management companies, having previously served as its Chief Executive.

Sara Cumani – Ordinary Member
Sara Cumani, 52, has played a vital role in the success of husband Luca’s training career. She held an Amateur Jockey’s licence from 1990 to 2006 and rode 8 winners under rules, including the Bathwick Tyres Ladies Derby Trophy in 2003 and the Queen Elizabeth’s Cup.

Sara is the Manager of Fittocks Stud in Newmarket where many good horses have been bred, including Milan, who was sold for 650,000 guineas as a yearling. Fittocks Stud owned, trained and bred Milan’s dam, Kithanga, a Group 3 winning half sister to the dam of Epsom Derby winner Kahyasi.
