KAUTO THE STAR

KAUTO STAR is now the 6/4 clear favourite for the totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup after winning the King George by 11 lengths - and hammering the bookies in the process.

David Williams of Ladbrokes said: “Kauto Star has once again given punters a brilliant Christmas present. It's been a dismal few days for bookies and Kauto Star's victory has sealed a miserable week for us. We're reaching for the revolver.”

Ladbrokes had offered a top price 5/6 to punters on the morning of the race.

STRAW BEAR defeats Harchibald to earn a 10/1 quote for the Champion Hurdle. Harchibald now a 7/1 chance

David Williams of Ladbrokes said: "Straw Bear was the more gutsy horse and Harchibald once again proved that in the heat of battle, he's unreliable. Odds-on backers have every right to feel a bit hacked off"
