VALUE BETTING COLUMN every Saturday

Saturday, November 18, 2006

£18,000 Ibetx.com £20 Free Bet Handicap, 12f

2.40pm Lingfield (Polytrack)

GOING:

1) (8) -023632 ORCADIAN James Eustace 5-10-01 John Egan
Smart front-running soft ground performer who has his quirks but has been in good heart in Group and Listed company this season. He will be difficult to peg back if taking to the surface on his Polytrack debut. BP=7/2

2) (6) (1)(1)0400 COLD TURKEY Gary Moore 6-9-00 Eddie Ahern
Never a factor in the November Stakes at Windsor last time but has scored five times over the course and distance. He has a major chance BP=15/8

3) (3) 052-00 HONDURAS Gary Moore 5-8-12 Jimmy Fortune
Second in 2004 Norsk Derby but hasn't won since July of that year. Well beaten in last two starts in two-mile Ascot handicap and Kempton novice hurdle. Looks to have little chance. BP=33/1

4) (5) (2)(1)3(6)0(4) COUNTRY PURSUIT Clive Brittain 4-8-08b Brett Doyle
Twice a winner over the course and distance including when two lengths too good for Young Mick in April. Yet to regain his form following a summer break. BP=7/1

5) (1) 61003(1) SWEET INDULGENCE Willie Musson 5-8-08 Tom Queally
Course and distance winner 13 days ago. He is on a career high mark but could make the shake-up. BP=9/2

6) (7) 1-100 POSTAGE STAMPE David Simcock 3-8-04 Martin Dwyer
Looked a smart prospect when winning a 10-furlong handicap at Lingfield in June. Well beaten when returned to course and distance last week after near three-month break. Has something to prove. BP= 16/1

7) (4) 001231 MIGHTY MOON Jimmy O'Reilly 3-8-02b Darryll Holland
Improved form last four starts since fitted with a visor, winning twice. Impressive winner of soft ground 14-furlong Catterick handicap last time. He has claims on all-weather debut and looks good value.. BP=8/1

8 (2) 401000 PUNTA GALERA Richard Hannon 3-8-02 Dale Gibson
Set steady pace when making all for 10-furlong Sandown handicap success in September. Handles Polytrack but there is a question mark over stamina. Others preferred. BP=20/1

SUMMARY
Mighty Moon
is great value on his all-weather debut. Good value each-way.
