SKY BET OFFERS 110% BOOK ON THE HENNESSY COGNAC GOLD CUP AND PERTEMPS "FIGHTING FIFTH" HURDLE




With the jumps season now well and truly in full swing, leading UK bookmaker Sky Bet is to present customers with an unrivalled special of a 110% book on both of tomorrow's feature races - the Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup at Newbury (2.40pm) and the Pertemps "Fighting Fifth" Hurdle (3.00pm) at Newcastle. Both races will be broadcast live on Channel 4.


The 110% offer will go live from 8.00am and will remain available until the first show of the day on each of the two contests. If a horse's odds shorten, then the price of another will immediately increase to maintain a 110% margin.


In addition, Sky Bet is continuing to guarantee to hold all the morning prices in the Racing Post "Pricewise" races for the complete period of the Channel 4 Morning Line programme, which now runs from the earlier time of 8.00am until 8.50am.


The guarantee applies in its entirety to customers using the digital interactive red button service. However, for those unable to use the digital service, Sky Bet will still guarantee to hold all the morning prices in the Racing Post "Pricewise" races for a minimum period of at least 15 minutes on the telephones (08000 722 421).


Telephone lines are open from 8.00am. Sky Bet telephone customers are guaranteed to get at least a £25 bet on the selection of their choice during this period.

BETFAIR PAYS £367,000 TO OUT-OF-POCKET SPORTING OPTIONS CUSTOMERS




Betfair, the world's leading betting exchange, has already paid out £367,000 in cash to 414 out-of-pocket customers of Sporting Options, the betting exchange which went into administration on November 15th.

"We are delighted with the response so far to our rescue package and we look forward to helping more Sporting Options customers," said Stephen Hill, Betfair's chief executive.


When Sporting Options went into administration, a total of 5,342 customers lost money. So far Betfair has received 650 application forms by post and 414 have been processed and paid out. About 200 application forms are being received by post each day.


Under the terms of Betfair's rescue package, which has been agreed with Sporting Options' administrator, Sporting Options customers who have lost up to £1,000 will be paid the full amount. Those who have lost more than £1,000 will receive a minimum of £1,000 or 20 per cent of their Sporting Options account balance, whichever is greater.


These customers will then be eligible to receive cash rebates in the form of a reduced commission rate until their account balance has been discharged, or until 30th November 2006 at the latest. The first commission rebates will be paid on December 1st.


Conditions of the rescue package include that each customer satisfactorily completes Betfair's Know Your Customer process. Full details of Betfair's rescue package are available on www.betfair.com.
