SUNDAY START FOR DONCASTER'S SEASON OVER JUMPS

Doncaster's nine-day 2004/05 campaign over Jumps begins on Sunday (November 28) – the second Sunday fixture this year at the racecourse which staged Britain's historical first-ever Sunday meeting in July 1992.

Racing is scheduled to begin at 12-45 p.m. with The Doncaster Racecourse Sponsorship Club Mares' Only Novices' Hurdle over the extended two miles, three furlongs. Sunday's programme also features The Clayworth Handicap Chase (a contest for stayers over three and a quarter miles), The Torworth Novices' Handicap Chase (extended two miles) and The Retford Handicap Hurdle over the extended two miles, three furlongs.

Racegoers' enjoyment of the action on the track will be enhanced by the giant totesport screen situated opposite the main stands, while as usual, there's a supervised crèche facility in the Family Enclosure available @ £1-80 per hour.

THE JUMPERS RETURN TO CATTERICK ON WEDNESDAY

Catterick's 2004/05 season over Jumps begins on Wednesday (December 1) - the first of nine scheduled days' Jumping at the North Yorkshire track during the campaign, which concludes in early March.

The action on Wednesday afternoon is due to start at 12-50 p.m. with The Richmondshire Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle over two miles, three furlongs, while the programme features The Askrigg Handicap Chase over two miles and The Pepper Arden Handicap Chase, a contest for stayers over the extended three miles and one furlong.

Tim Easterby and Russ Garritty were the leading trainer and jockey respectively during Catterick's last season over Jumps, while Padge Whelan was the course's top Conditional rider in the competitions sponsored by The Nag's Head at Pickhill near Thirsk. It is hoped that presentations can be made to the respective winners on Wednesday.
