BP= the best price at the time of writing

1. 110-16 Pablo Du Charmil David Pipe 7-11-12 NON-RUNNER

2. 4/11-1 Howle Hill Alan King 8-11-12 Robert Thornton
Unbeaten in three starts over fences including game Grade Three victory at Cheltenham on seasonal reappearance, despite hitting a flat spot mid-race. Handicapper has not been lenient with an 8lb hike but he must have every chance as he is improving. Trainer has chosen this race over many other opportunities. BP= 5/2

3. 202-51 Calatagan Malcolm Jefferson 9-11-11 Tom Dreaper
Won Castleford Chase at Wetherby for a second year running over Christmas, and raised 6lb as a result. Consistent sort who is a fluent jumper but could need some respite from the handicapper away from his favourite course.and may be best going left-handed. BP= 10/1

4. F1F-2U Master Minded Paul Nicholls 5-11-07 Ruby Walsh
Youngest horse in the race, but plenty of chasing experience over the big fences at Auteuil. Fluffed his lines on British debut when unseating at Exeter in November and this could struggle with a rating of 145 over unforgiving fences or else he could be quite good. BP= 7/2

5. 1P3U/4 El Vaquero Howard Johnson 10-11-06 Denis O’Regan
Won the Grade One Scilly Isles Chase here as a novice, and returned with a competent fourth behind New Alco in a graduation chase at Carlisle in November after nearly two years off. Interesting runner but just might find things happening too fast over this minimum distance. BP= 12/1

6. 27-448 Hasty Prince Jonjo O’Neill 10-11-01 Tony McCoy
A pound lower than when second here in a more valuable handicap chase in February, but three starts this season do not inspire confidence. Not a horse to trust. BP= 13/2

7. 02F3U1 Bleu Superbe Venetia Williams 11-10-10 Alan O’Keeffe
First win for 20 months when made all to be the close victor of a two-mile handicap chase at Ascot in December, but the erratic veteran will need to curb his tendency to jump left handed to get into the money. And he is not one to rely on. Best on fast ground these days. BP= 22/1

8. 61S-96 Jericho III Venetia Williams 11-10-10 Liam Treadwell
Won a handicap chase here in March 2006 but finished behind Hasty Prince here in February and two starts this season have been satisfactory at best. Coming back to his favourite trip and like his stable companion likes to make all. Could be the surprise package in the race. BP= 18/1

9. 3405-6 All Star Nicky Henderson 8-10-08 Mick Fitzgerald
Two places ahead of Hasty Prince on seasonal bow at Cheltenham in November and could have a live chance based on fine fifth in last season’s Ulster Bank Handicap at Punchestown. Trainer in fine form and could go well. BP= 11/2

Howle Hill is taken to win this because of doubts about all the others.
