SANDOWN, SATURDAY, JANUARY 7, 2006

3:45pm £20,000 Ladbrokes.com Handicap Chase 2m

GOING: Good, good to soft in places

for the best odds go to www.BritOdds.com
BP= the best price at the time of writing

1) 46-39 Kadarann 67 Paul Nicholls 9-11-12 Liam Heard (7)
High-class two-miler in his younger days and still shows glimpses. Jumped poorly when well-beaten ninth in Haldon Gold Cup last time but that was his first outing of the season and the stable was out of form then. Capable rider takes off a useful 7lb for this easier grade and is dropping down the handicap anyway. BP=28/1

2) 1U13- Dempsey 273 Mark Pitman 8-11-12 Andrew Tinkler
Carries a big reputation but also a hefty weight for his first start since a good third over this trip behind Ashley Brook in a Grade One novice event at Aintree last April. Best watched. BP=10/1

3) 2461- Tikram 260 Gary Moore 9-11-12 Tony McCoy
Failed by three lengths to give six pounds to Oneway when fifth in this race last year. Defeated Impek over four and a half furlongs further at the course last April and looks like he may now need further. First outing for 260 days. Best watched even with McCoy up. BP=9/1

4) 34-41 Tysou 28 Nicky Henderson 9-11-10 Mick Fitzgerald
Third in this race two seasons ago. Won well over half a furlong further on good to soft at Cheltenham last time and is clearly in good form but has jumped 5lb in the ratings and is running off his highest every mark. No value. BP=4/1

5) 3-4F4 Duncliffe 5 Robert Alner 9-11-08 Andrew Thornton
Prone to the odd jumping error but showed decent form in novice chases last term. Led until three out when fourth in a decent novice hurdle five days ago but this is shortest trip he has raced over with the fastest horses. BP=12/1

6) 1-F1P Full House 56 Paul Webber 7-11-06 Tom Doyle
A course winner last April, he ran dismally in the Paddy Power Gold Cup last time. May be better suited by two and a half miles. BP=11/1

7) 0-547 Palua 70 Emma Lavelle 9-11-01 Timmy Murphy
Capable but exposed handicapper. Made mistakes and faded behind Armaturk last time and has been well beaten all season so far. BP=33/1

8) 1423 Stance 22 Gary Moore 7-11-00 Philip Hide
Made winning debut over fences. Beaten in better grade since but may benefit dropped back to two miles after a well-beaten third to The Listener over half a mile further at Windsor last month. BP=10/1

9) 2B72 Tribal Dispute 28 Tim Easterby 9-10-12 Russ Garritty
Completed hat-trick of minor novice events last season. Chased home Tysou at Cheltenham last time and is three pounds better off for two lengths. Consistent sort. BP= 13/2

10) 1121 Lorient Express 12 Venetia Williams 7-10-08 Sam Thomas
Progressive form this season on good and good to firm going. Easily accounted for exposed rivals last time and could be on the upgrade but this is his toughest task. No value. BP= 4/1

11) 35F0 Cobbet 28 Tom George 10-10-04 Paddy Brennan
Hasn’t won since June, 2004. Failed to get competitive in his last three starts. BP=20/1

12) /213- Executive Decision 287 Lucy Wadham 12-10-00 Leighton Aspell
The veteran won a weak course and distance handicap on good to soft ground last season. Races from four pounds out of the handicap on this his seasonal debut. BP=33/1

SUMMARY
This is an open looking race with the two favourites offering no value. So it is worth taking a chance of a return to form of top-weight KADARANN who is at the great odds of 28/1 despite his stable being in flying form and a similar win of top-weight from Armaturk at Lingfield last weekend. Get on each-way.
