GOING REMAINS GOOD TO FIRM AHEAD OF CAMBRIDGESHIRE MEETING AT NEWMARKET
ON THE eve of the three-day Cambridgeshire Meeting, the official going was described as good to firm by Newmarket's Director of Racing Michael Prosser.
Having finished walking the track at 4.00pm on Wednesday, Prosser declared: "I am going to leave the ground at good to firm. It has marginally quickened up with the GoingStick reading now 9.3 from 9.0 on Tuesday afternoon. It is a decent quick surface and there is no jar in the ground.
"The likelihood of showers on Thursday is minimal, but the percentage chance of rain on Friday is greater. It is also forecast to be breezy on Friday.
"Saturday is expected to be dry in the morning with three to four millimetres of rain forecast for the afternoon."
