TO GODOLPHIN



Sakhee, the runner-up to Sinndar in the premier classic, the Vodafone Derby at Epsom in June, is one of four horses joining Godolphin - the others are Ekraar, Equerry and Savoire Vivre.


The three-year-old Bahri colt led over two furlongs out in the Vodafone Derby before being headed inside the final furlong. Sakhee fought back and was only beaten a length by a colt who went on to win another Derby, the Budweiser Irish Derby, and the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.


In his only subsequent start, Sakhee, trained by John Dunlop for Sheikh Hamdan al Maktoum, finished a creditable fourth to Giant's Causeway and Kalanisi in the Group One Coral-Eclipse over ten furlongs at Sandown in July.



Ekraar, winner of three Group Three races and fourth in the French 2,000 Guineas, the Group One Dubai Poule d'Essai des Poulains at Longchamp, is another off to Dubai.


The three-year-old Red Ransom colt, owned by Sheikh Hamdan al Maktoum and trained by Marcus Tregoning, has won his last three starts in good style, taking the flutter.com Select Stakes at Goodwood and the Petros Rose of Lancaster Stakes at Haydock, both Group Three events, after easily winning a Newbury conditions contest in July.



Equerry, the two-year-old St Jovite colt, has made a promising start to his career, winning his three races to date.

The most recent victory came in the Group Three Prix de Chenes at Longchamp last month after capturing a Listed Deauville contest, both over mile, following his initial Deauville triumph. He has been handled by Andre Fabre in France for Sheikh Mohammed.



Savoire Vivre, who had to miss the final British classic, the Rothmans Royals St Leger at Doncaster, because of a slight injury, is a progressive type.

Trained by John Gosden for Sheikh Mohammed, the three-year-old Sadler's Wells colt was a close second to Murghem in the Group Two thehorsesmouth.co.uk Geoffrey Freer Stakes at Newbury in August on only his second start. Savoire Vivre won on his Ascot debut in July.


IRISH OFF TO US


Turnberry Isle easily won the Group Three Juddmonte Beresford Stakes over a mile at the Curragh today when the 4-11 favourite under Mick Kinane. It was trainer Aidan O'Briend's fifth consecutive success in the event.

The trainer said: "The plan was to run here to set him up for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile at Churchill Downs. (Sat, November 4). We will see whether we will send any other two-year-old colt to the meeting with him."

Stable companion Giant's Causeway runs in the Breeders' Cup Classic after a work-out on the all-weather track at Southwell on Friday.


O'Brien commented: "Giant's Causeway was ready to run or work, and the day out to Southwell suited us. The horse is in top form and we are all looking forward to the Breeders' Cup Classic with him."
Bernstein could runn in the Breeders' Cup Mile.



CLAXON WINS


The John Dunlop-trained Claxon won the Group Two Premio Lydia Tesio over a mile and a quarter in Rome, Italy, today, winning by three lengths.




LAD WINS ON CHASING DEBUT


Limestone Lad had a winning chasing debut at Cork today, making all for jockey Barry Cash and trainer James Bowe.




LODGE SCORES AT LONGCHAMP


Indian Lodge won his second French Group One of the season and gave Pat Eddery his first Group One victory of the year in the seven-furlong Prix de la Foret at Longchamp today.

TheAmanda Perrett-trained four-year-old had previously won the Prix du Moulin triumph last month before disappointing in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes
Eddery said: "My first Group One has been a long time coming this year though there have been plenty of seconds!"


SINNDAR BOOST


Crimson Quest, trained by Andre Fabre and ridden by Olivier Peslier, won the Group Two Prix du Conseil du Paris at Longchamp today after being beaten eight lengths when second to Sinndar in the Prix Neil on his previous start

The two British runners came second last and last. Mark Johnston-trained King Regards was fourth of the five runners with French Derby winner Holding Court, trained by Michael Jarvis, fifth.
